Welcome to Fifth Grade! My name is Mrs. Rajpal, and I'm excited to be your teacher this year!
My Education and Professional Background
I'm originally from Wisconsin. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I received my Bachelor's Degree in International Studies. During this time, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy where I assisted teaching English to elementary students.
After graduating from UW-Madison, I moved to Chandler, AZ. When I first moved to Arizona, I worked for Scottsdale Community College as the Office Coordinator in their Disability Resources and Services Office.
While working at SCC, I attended Arizona State University where I received my Master's Degree in Elementary and Special Education.
I began my teaching career in Mesa, AZ. I spent three years teaching sixth grade reading.
When my family moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ, I had the opportunity to teach fifth grade ELA (English Language Arts) for three years.
I joined the Basha family in October of 2021 as an Intermediate Special Education teacher. This year I was given the opportunity to transition into a fifth grade position. I'm excited to teach fifth grade ELA and Social Studies this year.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child is capable of learning. It is important to meet the student where they are at in order to help push them towards their potential. Each student is unique and is able to bring something special with them when they are learning.
It is important for the student, teacher, and parents to work as a team in order to optimize learning for the student. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time in order to discuss your student's progress.
