    Welcome to Mrs. Sears' third grade class website!

    My Education and Professional Background

    Hi, there! I love teaching third grade! I graduated from ASU in 1993 and started teaching third grade in the Kyrene District. I earned my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from NAU soon afterwards. I have also taught fourth grade, been a math teacher, and a reading specialist. I couldn't wait to get back into the classroom to teach third graders at Basha. I live in Tempe with my son, Ryan, and my daughter, Emily.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My goal as a teacher is to create a learning environment in which all children enjoy coming to school, feel safe, and experience successes every day. It is my responsibility to challenge students to learn and perform on the level at which they are capable; this is what I enjoy doing. To become life-long learners and contributing citizens in our community is what I ultimately desire for each of my students. Our classroom will be a happy, respectful, and active learning environment.
