    E-Blast 1/24/22: Book Fair! January 31st - February 7th

    Families!

It's that treasured time of year…BOOK FAIR time !  This year we are hosting a book fair during your child's scheduled library class. Unfortunately, we cannot have any volunteers, so we will not be open before or after school.

We focus on books as their PRIMARY purchase, but do make erasers, pencils, and bookmarks available for purchase. We always have a $1 Book section that is pure profit thanks to your amazing donations when cleaning out your child's library as growing readers.  We accept cash or checks, make checks out to Fulton PTO.

This year, as in the past, Phoenix Book Company is hosting our book fair. One of the many things I love about this company is that they are local, they round the price of their books to the dollar, and their selection really fits our Fulton readers.

Here are trailers for some of the books that will be offered.  Look for an email from your teacher sharing the PBC Book Fair Flyer!

    4-6 Book Trailers (YouTube) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0wMYizJMdgJb8-0zIO-3SMLUpdBS60mW

This weekend, check out our Fulton Elementary Facebook page, as I will be posting a preview of the Book Fair!

We know that sometimes life gets busy, so if your child forgets to bring their Book Fair money, their teacher can send them down when I don't have a class already in the library.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me foster.marjorie@cusd80.com.

    E-Blast 1/13/22: Updated Mitigation Strategies

    Dear Fulton Elementary families,

I am writing to let you know that we currently have exceeded the 2 percent threshold of confirmed active cases of COVID-19 at Fulton Elementary. Consistent with the district's School Opening Plan adopted in May 2021, we will adjust our mitigation strategies immediately to help slow the spread of the virus.

Click here to view the mitigation plan in its entirety.  As a school with an increase in COVID cases, some of the enhanced safety measures will include:

    • Social distancing of 3 feet will be enforced during all campus activities, including instructional grouping.
    • We will limit sharing of classroom materials and textbooks.
    • Large group gatherings will be held outdoors only.
    • Students having direct contact at school with a person who is positive for COVID-19 will be notified and asked to monitor for symptoms.  Students who are not symptomatic may remain in school during their quarantine period having met the conditions listed in the  CUSD exclusion guidelines.
    • Field trips will be restricted, with district reviewing requests to determine approval and required mitigation strategies.
    • Staff will increase frequency of disinfecting high touch point surfaces.
    • Volunteer and parent visits will be restricted.
    • Quarantined and ill students will have access to missed assignments through Google Classroom.
    • Increase district support for disinfecting at the site.
    • The district dashboard will continue to be updated daily throughout the week.

We have had a plan in place to address an increase in cases, so we were prepared at the start of the day to implement these increased safety measures. Parents have an important role to play in our mitigation plan. Please continue to discuss with your children the importance of proper hand washing protocols and staying home when ill. The goal of this increased mitigation is to enable Chandler Schools to continue to keep schools open for learning. In order to ensure that student in-person learning continues, and in accordance with guidelines from the CDC and the Arizona Department of Health Services, the wearing of face masks by ALL students and staff on the campus is highly recommended.

Let's work collaboratively to ensure the safety of the families we serve.

    Regards,

    Dr. Shannon Hannon

    Principal, Fulton Elementary School

E-Blast 1/5/22: Battle of the Books

Hi Families! Mrs. Foster here!  First, I wanted to wish all of you a Happy New Year! Second, I wanted to share a couple of upcoming dates with you.  I'm currently out due to severe back issues.  I am unsure if I will be back on campus next week.  Unfortunately, that means this week's meeting is cancelled.  Please tell your child.

I am assuming I will be back on campus the week of the 17th.  Our 2nd Quarter Battle is Wednesday the 19th at 3:15pm in the MPR. Because our Battle group is large...I estimate the battle will last until 4:30 - 4:45. If anything changes, I will let you know as a soon as I know.

Upcoming Battle Meeting Dates are as follows: (all 8:05am)

    • 1/28
    • 2/11
    • 2/25
    • 3/11

Final Quarter 3 Battle will be April 6th in the MPR at 3:15pm.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  I will do my best to get out any review questions by Friday, 1/7 via email.

    Warmest Regards,

    Mrs. Foster
