Welcome!

Hello! My name is Tonja Pichardo. I am married to a wonderful man, Emil, and we have three wonderful and beautiful children together. We also have four precious little grandchildren. I love to run, read, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time with my family!

My Education and Professional Background

I attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and graduated in 2000 with my BA in Elementary Education. During my senior year at Ball State, I was hired to substitute teach part-time for Muncie Community School District. I loved the schools within my community and knew that I wanted to be part of the district that educated my community and my children. Muncie Community Schools hired me to teach a Basic Skills Math Class for grades 9-12 and from there I moved into the elementary schools where I taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, and Physical Education for grades K-5. After moving to Chandler, again I wanted to teach in the community where I live. I was hired to teach 2nd grade at Fulton. I have taught 2nd grade, Kindergarten, and 6th grade at Fulton Elementary.

My Educational Philosophy

I chose teaching as my career because I have always wanted to give to and serve others. I found that teaching children is a happy and loving way to make this happen. Children say and do the most amazing things! Their abilities are limitless! I truly believe that every child has the ability to learn, and I am happy to be one of the steps along the road of their educational journey.

I was born in Arizona and have lived here my entire life. I grew up in Mesa, but I currently live in Chandler with my wife Sarah, eight year old daughter Elise, and five year old son Charlie. In my free time I also enjoy reading fiction and history as well as listening to all different types of music.

In addition, it is important to meet the differing needs and abilities of a diverse group of students. I believe all students can succeed and become life long learners and it's the teacher's job to be an intellectual and moral role model for their students. However, teachers are also facilitators, asking questions and making suggestions in order to promote student learning.

Welcome!

This is my ninth year with CUSD and I am excited about what the year has in store for all of us in Music. I am really looking forward to guiding your children as they experience music and movement and sharing with them what civilizations have known about this art for hundreds of years.

My Education and Professional Background

-Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, University of Phoenix -Master of Arts, Education, University of Phoenix -Music Studies, Arizona State University & Berklee College of Music -K-12 Music Endorsement -Orff Level 2 -Taught at Ph I played violin in elementary school and trumpet in Jr. High school. I took piano lesson and began playing guitar when I was 13. I was the President of the Concert Choir and co-President of the Honor Choir while in high school. I sang in the ASU choir and studied Music Theory and Composition before before changing my degree emphasis to Business.

My Educational Philosophy

A teacher should be a model of enthusiasm for learning. I also believe that a teacher should be able to teach a child the processes of learning in order for the student to be able to go beyond that which the teacher has given. Students learn best when they experience what is being taught. I want my students not only to know that something does work and how it works, but, why it works that way. Students should leave my classroom with a knowledge of how to continue to learn.

Hi! I'm Margie Foster. I am so happy to be Librarian here at Fulton. I have been happily married to 'my person,' Jeff for 26 years. We have three dogs (our kids): Dixie, a yellow lab, Foxxy, a border collie mix, and our newest addition, Pearl, a jack russell. In my spare time, I love to hang out with friends, read, plan, and visit my family when possible.

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated from Arizona State University in 1999 after serving as a teacher's aide in first grade for 5 1/2 years. I knew my calling the moment I stepped into the classroom. The pursuit of my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education made it very clear to me that I loved everything about school. I then went on to garner my Master of Education from Northern Arizona University in 2006. I truly consider myself a lifelong learner. I have been teaching in since 1999. Time flies when you're having fun! I joined the CUSD team in the 2003-2004 school year teaching Kindergarten. While part of CUSD, I have taught grades K, 1, 2, 3, 6, and I’m entering my 7th year as Library teacher. I am currently part of the inspired Fulton Elementary team as Media Specialist/Librarian-Teacher.

My Educational Philosophy

My goal is to help all students find the book lover within. I do everything in my power to provide support, guidance, and learning opportunities for all students. Reading is the gateway to success. I firmly believe every child has the right to a quality education. The skills and support I provide in the library are paramount in that process. What we teach children to love and desire will always outweigh what we make them learn. - Jim Trelease, Read Aloud Handbook

This season has a great line up that she is so excited to see.
