    Welcome families! I am looking forward to another great school year.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I began my teaching career in Arizona in 2007. I graduated that same year with my Bachelor of  Arts in Elementary Education from Eastern Washington University, which is located near my hometown of Spokane, Washington. In 2016, I graduated from Arizona State University with my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Literacy Education. I have taught first grade, third grade, and fifth grade. I spent two years as a reading specialist before transitioning to my current role as English Language Coordinator for Andersen Elementary.

    My Educational Philosophy

    Teaching has always been a passion of mine because I believe that all children have the ability to succeed. I invite discussion and exploration in the classroom through the use of group work and hands-on experiences. When children are excited and engaged, the learning comes naturally. My job is to give all learners the tools and strategies necessary to feel successful. By teachers, parents, and the school community working together, we can build an environment where students thrive.
