About
Evans...
Welcome to Technology class at Andersen Elementary! I'm Mrs. Sara Evans. In addition to teaching Elementary Technology, I am married to a wonderful man named Bryan. We have 2 young kiddos - Ethan (4) and Ellie (2). We love to spend time outside on hikes, walks, and we are huge Arizona Diamondbacks fans. Thanks for stopping by to get to know me a little.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Dickinson State University in December of 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I have been teaching since 2002. I have taught kindergarten, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and now have the awesome privilege of teaching technology to our amazing Andersen Astronauts. I am currently working to earn a micro-credential in the area of Computer Science along with several other CUSD elementary technology teachers through the district's partnership with Arizona Department of Education.
My Educational Philosophy
In our technology innovation lab, you will find us learning how to code, building our own apps, creating digital art, learning 3D printing and design, and of course, utilizing the district-appointed curriculum of learning.com to improve our keyboarding and digital citizenship skills. I have a passion for teaching the people who will one day be running our world. I believe learning should be a fun, engaging, exciting and meaningful experience. I believe every child is a leader and has amazing potential. I believe as an educator, it is my duty to put forth my best efforts into creating an environment in my classroom that fosters the love of learning on a daily basis.
