About
Morton...
Welcome to Mrs. Morton's classroom website! I am looking forward to a year of exciting adventures working with our PreK students and their wonderful families. We are going to have a great year! Having open communication with the students and families that I am working with is important to me, so please feel free to contact me at any time.
My Education and Professional Background
I am highly qualified in the state of Arizona in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have taught kinder, 1st, 3rd, and 2nd grade at Andersen Elementary. I have been teaching at Andersen since 2010. My career in education began with doing child development research for First Things First and Southwest Human Development and has led to me working directly with students in the classroom. Working with children and seeing them grow is such a rewarding career.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that children are the foundation of a future that we have yet to understand. Our future holds new challenges that will require a population of critical thinkers, problem solvers, and people who have compassion for one another. I believe that education, both in and outside of a classroom, should allow students to not only learn fundamental skills, but also be creative and learn how to problem solve.
