    Reporting an Absence

    Attendance/Absence Line: 480-883-4003

Illness or Personal - Any Absence due to illness, death in the family, religious observance, or other circumstances, should be called in by 9:00 a.m. on the day of the absence. Please state the nature of illness, if applicable.

Family Vacations and Special Events - When possible, please consult with your child's teacher to discuss the impact on your child's education and necessary make-up work. Please remember to notify the office as well as the teacher.

Tardies - It is very important for students to report to school on time. Children coming late to school must report to the office before going to the classrooms. All students who are tardy must sign in the "Tardy" book and receive a tardy pass before going to their classrooms. If they do not sign in, they may be marked absent.

Early Checkout - In order to have a child released from school, a parent/guardian must come to the office in person. Students will be released only to their parents/guardians. . If it is necessary for another adult to check out the student, (in a non-emergency situation) the parent/guardian must give permission by sending a note or calling the school office and ensure that person’s name is listed on the child’s emergency card.  All people signing out a student must be 18 years of age or older.  Please be prepared to show picture I.D.  Please keep in mind that students are not always in the classroom and it can sometimes take a few minutes to locate them and get them to the office.

Make-up work - Students are responsible for making up all work that they missed during an absence. They generally will have as many days to make up their assignments as they were out.

    Enrolling or Withdrawing a Student

    Enrolling a student:

Parents are encouraged to enroll their child at least one day before they wish them to attend. This will give their new teacher time to prepare for the child. Please make sure that you have your child's original birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of address. You may also bring any other records that might help with your child's school placement.

    Withdrawing a student:

Parents should notify Ms. Leslie Ramirez, our attendance clerk, if they plan on withdrawing their child. All classroom textbooks as well as books from the Media Center should be returned prior to checkout. Parents will need to come to the office to fill out the necessary paperwork to withdraw their child.
