About Ms. Lora Kopp...
Position: Lead Teacher
Team/Department: SPED PreSchool
Phone: (480) 812-7300 Ext. 7337
Welcome to PreSchool! My name is Lora Kopp and I am honored to be your child's teacher this year! I live in Gilbert with my partner, our cat and our dog. I love traveling, cooking, and spending time with my family. My passion for early childhood education began when I became an auntie 7 years ago, since then my nieces and nephew have shown me how beautiful and fun learning can be when we set children up for success!
My Education and Professional Background
My passion lies in early childhood special education. I have been teaching in this realm for the last 4 years and I absolutely love it! I have my Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education. Additionally, I have an endorsement in Structured English Immersion (SEI). I have completed thorough trainings in the Conscious Discipline program. This program is an evidence-based and trauma-informed approach to social-emotional learning which has greatly shaped how I manage my classroom.
My Educational Philosophy
The family are the child's first and most important teachers! To help each child succeed, it is my job to work with families to ensure each child is receiving the education and support they need. Every child has endless potential, it is up to us as adults to help them get there. I take my role in this process seriously. In these formative preschool years we will focus on social-emotional learning, hands-on experiences that inspire a love for learning, and focus on the fundamental skills to prepare each child for success.
The Choice is Yours! Why Choose Sanborn Elementary?
I am a Sanborn alumni! I attended Sanborn more than 20 years ago when I was in elementary school. I had such great experiences here as a child, so I was eager when I saw a position for PreSchool Teacher open! I am so excited to be back at Sanborn and working with all of the wonderful staff, families, and students!
