Welcome! I am excited to be part of Sanborn Sun’s Family as your child’s sixth grade teacher. I look forward to working with you and your child this school year.
My Education and Professional Background
I earned a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts in 1991 and a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Learning Handicapped in 1998 from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles, California. Over the course of two decades, I have taught fourth through eighth grade as a general education teacher as well as special education K-8 as a resource specialist. In 2012, I was named a Rodel Exemplary Teacher by the Rodel Foundation of Arizona. When I am not devoting my time to my classroom and the needs of my students, I like to read, go to the movies, travel to exotic places and spend time with my husband.
My Educational Philosophy
Teaching is more to me than just a job. It is a commitment I take very seriously. My goal is to help your child succeed in school by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking and invites sharing of ideas. Thus, I hold high expectations for your child and I will do all I can to help him or her meet those expectations. In return I expect cooperation and respect from your child.
