About
Morris...
My name is Renee Morris and I am so excited to be the Reading Specialist at Sanborn.
My Education and Professional Background
I moved to Arizona after graduating from University of California, Irvine with a BA in Psychology and Social Behavior and a minor in Education. I then substitute taught for a year while completing the requirements for my teaching credential. In 2017, I completed my Masters in Special Education: Dyslexia Specialist Degree. I joined the Chandler School District in 2007 and taught Resource at Navarrete Elementary for eight years. I transferred to Fulton Elementary in 2015. While at Fulton I taught resource and kindergarten. In 2019 I began teaching at Sanborn. I have been fortunate to go through extensive training with Wilson Reading. I completed my Level 1 and Level 2 Certifications with the Wilson Reading System. I am an in-district trainer for Fundations, Just Words, and the Wilson Reading System. I have earned endorsements in Early Childhood, Reading, and Structured English Immersion.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every student is unique and has their own way of learning. Each student has special talents and strengths. As a teacher, it is my goal to make sure that my students feel they have a safe place to learn, make mistakes, and be successful.
