Welcome families! My name is Renee Morris and I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten this year. I look forward to being a part of your child's first school experience, which sets the foundation for future learning!
My Education and Professional Background
I moved to Arizona after graduating from University of California, Irvine with a BA in Psychology and Social Behavior and a minor in Education. I then substitute taught for a year while completing my requirements for my teaching credential. I spent my first year of teaching at a Junior High in Mesa. After that I joined the Chandler School District and taught at Navarrete Elementary for eight years. I have earned endorsements in Early Childhood, Reading, and Structured English Immersion. I have been fortunate to go through extensive training with Wilson Reading. I completed my Level 1 and Level 2 Certifications with the Wilson Reading System. I am an in-district trainer for Fundations Levels K, 1, 2, and Intervention, an in-district trainer for Just Words, and the Wilson Reading System. I recently completed my Masters in Special Education: Dyslexia Specialist Degree.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every student is unique and has their own way of learning. Each student has special talents and strengths. As a teacher, it is my goal to make sure that my students feel they have a safe place to learn, make mistakes, and be successful.
