    CUSD/AJHS Mask Policy Update (3/4/2021)

Due to improving Covid 19 metrics (decreasing Covid 19 cases, increased hospital bed capacity) student athletes will not be required to wear masks when physically active in practice effective immediately. Starting March 8th, student-athletes may choose to continue to be masked up but will not be required to wear mask during competition.  Coaches and all team personnel are to always remain masked up. As well as all spectators in attendance for a contest must continue to wear an approved mask.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation with our mitigation strategies. I am very grateful to all of you, because you have been diligent in following these policies which has helped our athletes to be able to safely complete.

    SEASON 3 ATHLETIC UPDATE (2/18/2021)

Beginning Monday, February 22, 2021, the Chandler Unified School District will allow up to 4 family members for both home and away participants.

    • The gymnasium will be cleared after each contest
    • Families will be asked to sit together
    • Everyone is to remain masked up and socially distant

This is for CUSD only as other surrounding districts may operate in a different manner.

Each EVC school will be following the policy created by their district and at all EVC events the home team district policies will be enforced. Please see below for policies for Queen Creek Unified School District and Higley Unified School District.

QCUSD (Newell Barney JrHS / Eastmark HS / Queen Creek JrHS)

    • Facilities will operate at 50% capacity

HUSD (Sossaman MS / Cooley MS)

    • Two legal parent/guardians are allowed per player for both teams

In order to comply with these new policies, AJHS ask all families to follow the following guidelines:

    • Players will receive 4 wristbands to give to families the day before a home game.
    • All families are asked to meet players at the front of school at the conclusion of the game. No team meetings with families will be permitted.
    • Soccer / Cheer
      • When families arrive, we ask that you wear your wristbands to be identified. If you do not have a wristband, you will be asked your players name and marked off. Only 4 family members will be allowed per player, and any additional will not be allowed to attend.
      • Family units must sit together in the bleachers (8th grade) or socially distanced along the east sideline. (any family member is allowed but anyone under 18 must be supervised by their own parent/guardian)
    • Basketball
      • When families enter the gym there will be a table to check in. If you have your wristband, you will have quick access. If you do not have a wristband, you will be asked your players name and marked off our list. Only 4 family members will be allowed per player, and any additional will not be allowed to attend.
      • In order to allow us to properly clean and sanitize between games, only 7th grade families will be permitted during the 7th grade game. We will have all families exit the gym through the northeast doors and ask 8th grade families to wait socially distanced outside the gym. Once we have sanitized our bleachers, 8th grade families will be permitted to enter.
      • Family units must sit together in the bleachers (any family member is allowed but anyone under 18 must be supervised by their own parent/guardian)

Thank you for your continued support and flexibility with the updated policies and procedures for athletic events. If you have any questions please contact our athletic department anytime at 480-883-5310 or by email at randel.alex@cusd80.com.
