I assist 7th grade students with all academics. I want to help them become stronger students. I also look forward to what the students can teach me.

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I also graduated from the University of Great Falls with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I have been teaching since 1996. I started out working for the Gallup School district in New Mexico. I worked at a 7 through 12th grade school in Navajo, New Mexico on the Navajo Reservation. I was a special education teacher and I also coached cross country and track. I was hired by the Chandler School District in 1999. I have spent my whole time at Andersen Junior High as a special education teacher. I am now a case manager for seventh grade students and I have an afterschool tutoring program.

My Educational Philosophy

Students will learn to successfully solve the puzzle of daily junior high life. Academics and social skills combine to create a different picture for each individual. I help the students complete their picture. It isn't always easy but I am there for them throughout the process.

The Choice is Yours!  Why Choose AJHS?

At Andersen Junior High we are constantly fine tuning our curriculum and teaching. We are leading the way with new programs that many other junior highs joined after seeing our success. We have READ 180 and a school wide discipline program (RTP) which provides consistency and safety across the school day. We also have a tutoring program to provide extra support for struggling students.
