• Yvette Stene

    Hello!  My name is Yvette Stene and I am the Reading Specialist at  Andersen Elementary. I have been working in the district since 2012.
     
    I come from the "Big Sky State" of Montana. It is hard to believe that this will be my 31st year in education.  I still feel the excitement of the beginning of each school year like I did when I was much younger! In 2011, my husband (a retired special education administrator) and I decided to embark on a much warmer journey to our new home in Arizona. We have four adult children and three grandchildren.  We enjoy traveling to Nevada, Washington, and Montana to see all of them. In my free time I enjoy attending sporting events (Go Griz!), swimming, golfing, listening to our awesome vinyl collection, and exploring Arizona.
     
    The needs of most learners can be met through the flexible instruction and best teaching practices of the general education program.  I provide targeted reading interventions to students in the general education setting who are demonstrating a need for additional targeted reading instruction.   
     
    We are all equal partners in a child's education.  You can expect me to collaborate with other teachers and parents in a team effort to meet the unique needs of students. 
     
    I continue to absolutely love what I do!
