Dear Parents, Welcome to 5th grade. I am excited to welcome new students to the classroom. My name is Stephanie Battani and I was born in Des Moines, Iowa. I moved to Chandler in 1996. I have taught at the elementary and junior high levels and am excited to be teaching 5th grade. Parents are an essential part of the educational process at our school and it is important to maintain open communication throughout the year.
My Education and Professional Background
I am a 1996 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa where I majored in Elementary Education and Spanish. In 2001 I graduated with a Masters in curriculum and instruction. I completed my Administrative Certification Coursework in December of 2008. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and Spanish, M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, Administrative Certification.
My Educational Philosophy
My personal goal for my future classroom is to challenge students and watch them grow to their full potential. I want to take students at different levels and see them develop together for the betterment of each individual. Therefore, group work is the key to having a successful class and is something I value, especially with older students. The impact of group work, when students help fellow students, changes each person and transforms the atmosphere of the class as a whole.
