Welcome to Speech with Mrs. Stone!
My Education and Professional Background
My name is Amy Stone, and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist at Auxier Elementary and the Lead Speech-Language Pathologist for Chandler Unified School District. I am an Arizona state licensed and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certified SLP. I was born in Texas, moved to Arizona, and then moved to Arkansas where I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Arkansas. During my time as a graduate student, I was selected as a research assistant for a professor, and I was given the opportunity to present my research at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association national conference in San Diego. I moved back to Arizona in 2011 with my husband and two dogs, and we welcomed a baby boy, Hunter, in summer 2020. I have been with Chandler Unified School District as an SLP since 2012.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child has a voice and has something to important to say. It's my job to unlock that voice and help students to become successful communicators in all areas of communication: expressive language, receptive language, articulation, fluency, alternative and augmentative communication, and pragmatic language.
