Hello! My name is Danette St. Vincent and I am excited to be your child's Resource Specialist.
My Education and Professional Background
My teaching career began in 1994 (WOW) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I received my Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Elementary Education, as well as my Masters Of Education in Learning Disabilities from Slippery Rock University. My first 11 years, in education, were spent in Pennsylvania teaching both elementary and junior high in a self-contained setting. When I moved to Arizona, I taught 2 years at Anderson Junior High and then transferred to Tarwater in 1998.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that each individual with adisablity is entitled to the support necessary to maximize his/her potential when given the resources. I want to create an effective climate for learning where I will encourage my students to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses so that they can become good advocates for themselves in all settings.
