My name is Michelle Purtiman and I am pleased to be your child's second grade teacher. I am looking forward to working with your child and you throughout this school year!
My Education and Professional Background
To introduce myself, I was born and raised in Tempe, AZ. I attended Arizona State University and graduated in May 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education. I have taught first grade in Gilbert, AZ and in Alameda, CA. I have been part of the Toro family since 2013.
My Educational Philosophy
I became a teacher because I enjoy inspiring student and making them excited about learning. As a teacher, I am dedicated to helping my students become lifelong learners and teaching them the academic skills they need to be successful. I am focused on creating a classroom environment and structure where all students of different learning styles, backgrounds, and academic levels will be engaged and will increase their self-esteem.
