About Danette St. Vincent...
I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones. I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience in this upcoming year. However, I can't do this without your help and support, as parents. We are partners in this learning process.
My Education and Professional Background
My teaching career began in 1994 (WOW) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I received my Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Elementary Education, as well as my Masters of Education in Learning Disabilities from Slippery Rock State College. My first 11 years in education, were spent in Pennsylvania teaching both elementary and junior high in a self-contained setting. I started with CUSD in the year 1998.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that each individual with a disability is entitled to the support necessary to maximize his/her potential when given the resources. I want to create an effective climate for learning where I will encourage my students to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses so that they can become advocates for themselves in all settings.
