    Welcome!

    Welcome to Third Grade! I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my third year at Patterson Elementary. I am a California native and have also lived in New York and Virginia before coming to Arizona in 2020. My husband and I have three children--all who attend Patterson! I love spending time with my wonderful family and my beautiful black lab Olive, rooting for the Dodgers, and cuddling up with a good book.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from Penn State University in 2003 with a BA in English, after which I worked as a children's book editor for a publisher in New York. I went back to school to get my Master's in Education specializing in cross-cultural teaching from National University in California. I have worked in education since 2009, having taught in California, Virginia, and Arizona as a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teacher as well as an ELL specialist. As an Adora Trails community member, I am very happy to have the chance to work with the children of our neighborhood, where I hope I can inspire and foster a love of learning!

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that every child can be successful in the classroom with the right tools and motivation. It is important for children to build strong relationships and a sense of community so that they can feel safe in their learning environment. A strong parent-teacher relationship and communication is key to student success. I believe in teaching the whole child and making sure that they are receiving the best education that is right for them.
