Principal Caryn Cole was Cruella de Vil, and Dean Torie Brown was the Dog Catcher. The kids loved it at drop-off in the morning.

Her rooster lore is displayed on the wall at North Italia in Del Mar, California. Over the summer she was able to stop in to take a picture with her work!

Poems were evaluated on creativity, sensory/figurative images, structure, and use of poetic techniques. Their poems will be published in the 25th edition of the Young American Poetry Digest.

They received high scores for problem identification, problem analysis, as well as reviewing and improving existing solutions! A large part of this competition are the CORE Values which focus students on working as a team, valuing every students' input, building upon one another's thinking and gracious professionalism.

They wrote words of encouragement to the students and staff following the devastating Camp Fire which heavily damaged Ponderosa Elementary and completely destroyed Paradise Elementary. Grandparents were treated to a short performance before joining their grandchild in the classroom to participate in a learning activity together. Additionally, they acknowledged 9-11 and had veterans and first responders stand up at the opening ceremony to be recognized.
