Position: Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
Team/Department: Hancock PPS
Hello! I am delighted to have your child in my classroom this year. This school year, your child will be exposed to a variety of new activities that foster the development of language, social skills, life and functional skills, academics and improving motor skills. Our preschool day will be filled with large group, small group and independent activities that are rich with language and foster growth in all areas of development.
My Education and Professional Background
I received my BA in Special Education from Arizona State University. I currently hold an ADE Special Education Teaching Certificate with an Early Childhood Education Endorsement. I have over 15 years of teaching experience and have been teaching in Chandler Unified School District's Priority Preschool Program since 2018.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that preschoolers learn best through hands-on positive interactions in an active learning environment that fosters development in academics, communication, social/emotional skills, adaptive skills, and motor skills. I believe that it is important to provide positive opportunities for exploration and challenging experiences to foster growth at a developmentally appropriate level for each unique child.
