Welcome
Welcome to Mr. Pritchard's 5th-grade class! I am so excited to get back to class and see all the smiling faces. This is my 7th year at Hancock. I have taught 5th for three years and 6th for three years. This is a great year for your students. My goal is to prepare all students for their sixth and final year in elementary school. Students will grow more independent both educationally and socially. It is my honor to lead them to success in both.
My Education and Professional Background.
I am an Arizona native and grew up in Mesa. I graduated from Dobson High School. Teaching in my second career. I managed an all-inclusive resort called Pacific Islands Club on the tiny Pacific island of Saipan, a commonwealth of the USA, from 1998- 2012. I achieved my lifelong goal of becoming a teacher after receiving my Bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Phoenix in 2015.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to master all of our academic standards. Additionally, my classroom expectations are very high. Behavior, respect for self and others, citizenship, hard work, and participation are a must. My classroom will celebrate the diversity of our school and society. I strongly believe in preparing students for life after school. Your students will understand what is needed for success in the classroom and the community. I look forward to working with you this year. Together we will produce educated and hard-working citizens who will carry us into the future. Thank you for your support ahead of time. Please contact me at any time. Communication is the key to success.
