Welcome to Mr. Pritchard's PE class! I am so excited to get back to class and see all the smiling faces. This is my 8th year at Hancock. I have taught 5th for four years and 6th for three years. This is my first year as a PE instructor. I look forward to teaching our students how physical activity can increase our mental, emotional, and physical health. We are not creating professional athletes. We are using physical activity to promote healthy, responsible, and caring citizens.
My Education and Professional Background.
I am an Arizona native and grew up in Mesa. I graduated from Dobson High School. Teaching is my second career. I managed an all-inclusive resort called Pacific Islands Club on the tiny Pacific island of Saipan, a commonwealth of the USA, from 1998- 2012. I achieved my lifelong goal of becoming a teacher after receiving my Bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Phoenix in 2015.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to master all of our academic standards. Additionally, my classroom expectations are very high. Behavior, respect for self and others, citizenship, hard work, and participation are a must. My classroom will celebrate the diversity of our school and society. I strongly believe in preparing students for life after school. Your students will understand what is needed for success in the classroom and the community. I look forward to working with you this year. Together we will produce educated and hard-working citizens who will carry us into the future. Thank you for your support ahead of time. Please contact me at any time. Communication is the key to success.
Welcome to Mr. Pritchard's 5th grade class! I am excited to start the school year and hope you have had a great summer so far. This will be my 1st year Hancock, and I am very happy to be here! Fifth grade is an extremely important year for students as it will provide a bridge between elementary and middle school. Students will grow more independent both educationally and socially It is my honor to lead them in both these areas so they all reach their full potential.
