Hundreds of notebooks, several new back packs, colored pencils, crayons, scissors, binders, glue sticks, pens, pencils and other much needed supplies donated by the Hancock Community were packed together by over forty volunteers to send to elementary schools in South Houston devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Parents, staff and students worked side by side after school on Monday, September 18th to pack the supplies and then celebrated their efforts with some pizza donated by Peter Piper Pizza. The supplies will arrive with letters from our 6th graders who were moved as they witnessed the loss many experienced and wanted to send their best hopes and wishes for the kids in this difficult time.
Thank you to all the parents, students, and staff who supported our efforts. An especially big thank you to our PTO president, Kim Farran who made contact with a school in need and mailed the donations!
