    Welcome!

    I am so glad to be here at Hancock and work with amazing teachers and students. Second grade is the best! In case you weren't sure, my name is pronounced /fun-toe-vich/.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from ASU with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education in 2005 and began teaching right away.  I also have a master's degree in bilingual education from NAU.    

    My Educational Philosophy

    I know that a possitive classroom enviornment is essential for student success. While I like to have fun in the classroom, I have high expectations for all my students' growth. I encourage students to adopt a growth mindset by not being afraid of mistakes and challenges but to instead see them as opportunities for growth. I value both independence and cooperative learning and see second grade as a time to practice these skills.
