Welcome to Hancock Elementary Prekindergarten. My name is Jenny Vallera and I will be your child's teacher this year. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing and relaxing. It's going to be a great year!
My Education and Professional Background
I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, a Masters degree in Special Education. I am S.E.I. endorsed and I have my Early Childhood Endorsement. I have over 27 years experience as a teacher. I spent 7 years in the Roosevelt School District teaching 1st thru 3rd grades, then moved to the Higley Unified School District where I taught 2nd grade for 4 years, then I had the opportunity to work part-time and went to work at First United Methodist Church of Gilbert Preschool and taught there for 3 years in their 3's program and now I have been in CUSD 16 years teaching 2nd grade and now Prekindergarten.
My Educational Philosophy
Preschool is an exciting time! We will have a lot of adventures and learn many new things. This is the time to instill that love of learning and gathering that baseline of knowledge. In our classroom, each student will have the opportunity to grow to their fullest potential through exploration, discovery, trial and error and working together as a community. I will promote a positive classroom environment where children will feel safe to express their ideas and feelings. Students will learn from their teachers and peers. Thank you for choosing Hancock Elementary Prekindergarten and entrusting your child to us this school year. It will be a great year! I look forward to working with you to help your child grow, learn and have fun!
