    Welcome!

    Welcome to Riggs Preschool! My name is Kristina Richey and I am so excited to be your child's teacher. Our year together is going to be busy learning new things like our ABCs, shapes, and numbers, meeting new friends and having fun painting, playing with play-dough and more!

    Our first Day of school will be Wednesday, July 17.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, majoring in Elementary Education and obtaining my Early Childhood endorsement. I began teaching in Mesa Public Schools where I  taught for 11 years. Teaching 5th, 2nd, and 1st grades and finishing out my years there in the Early Kindergarten program...where I fell in love with Preschool.

    I then taught for the next 11 years at Dayspring Preschool and Kindergarten in the three's program. Next, I helped out family's church open a three's preschool program. This will be my fourth year teaching preschool at Riggs. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    I strongly believe that young learners learn best in a classroom that is child centered and hands on: counting buttons or dinosaurs, practicing their letters in shaving cream, finger painting and watching a caterpillar turn into a butterfly! I want to surround my students with many learning experiences and help them develop a love of learning!
