  • Check out the Summer Reading Programs at the Chandler Library located at Basha High School and the Maricopa County Library located at Perry High School.  Both of great summer reading, free Kindle and other online books and materials, and weekly fun activities!  Stay cool this summer!

  • Parent Survey Results for the 2016-2017 School Year!

    Based on the results of the recent survey, did you know…

    Þ That 99.6% of parents agree or strongly agree that “a staff member is available when I have a question or concern.”

    Þ The 98% of parents believe they “receive timely communication from their child’s school.”

    Þ That 96% of parents agree or strongly agree that their “child is challenged when needed (overall) by the work he/she is assigned.”

    Þ That 99.6% of parents marked “YES” on “My child feels safe at school”.

    Þ That 95% of parents agree or strongly agree that “When needed, my child receives additional instructional support”.

    Þ That 100% of parents who completed the survey agree or strongly agree that their “child’s school is clean and maintained (inside/outside).”

    The Arizona Educational Foundation announced that Riggs Elementary has been named A+ Schools of Excellence for 2016.

    The A+ School of Excellence™ Program is a comprehensive school assessment program that celebrates outstanding schools and brings to light the positive stories and successes happening in public schools every day.

    Relay for Life of ChandlerVisit Riggs Elementary WebsiteReport a Problem with Item A002928Riggs Elementary - (2015-2016) Kudos to those from CUSD who attended the recent Relay for Life of Chandler event hosted by Basha High School on April 29. Over 400 staff and students, represented by Basha Elementary, CTA Freedom, Patterson, Riggs, Ryan, Payne, Basha High, Chandler High, Hamilton High and Perry High, attended the 12 hour overnight event where teams committed to have members walk throughout the night.     Visit Riggs Elementary WebsiteReport a Problem with Item A002511Riggs Elementary - (2015-2016) PE Teachers Stacy Brasel and Sarah Wagoner made arrangements for the The Arizona Coyotes to come out and run a hockey clinic for all the kids at Riggs Elementary. They taught the kids about stick handling, safety and strategy. The kids ran drills which also enforced hand eye coordination. The Arizona Coyotes also got the students into real game play. Students completed chores at home, raising a grade level total of $2,285. The students purchased items up to their allotted amount. After their shopping excursion, students traveled to The Chandler Food Bank and delivered the 1,909 pounds of food. Profits earned help to offset costs for science camp and other field trips, which help supplement CUSD's curriculum. They gathered the cardboard tubes from the Riso machines that are usually discarded and gave them to the students to decorate, fill up with treats and a note from the student.     Visit Riggs Elementary WebsiteReport a Problem with Item A000062Riggs Elementary - (2011-2012) Sixth graders conducted a water audit that showed they were using 139,000 gallons of water during the school year. By placing new aerators on the bathroom faucets only, the water use dropped to 93,000 gallons of water per school year.
