Robot Rules
- The Robot can only have one Robot Battery
- The Robot can only have one Robot Brain
- The Robot can be made of only VEX GO parts
- The Robot must have the VEX GO license plate with Team Name or Number
- Decorations are allowed
Game Rules
- Robots must start on the green tile
- If a robot becomes stuck, the human player can pick up the robot and place it on an adjacent empty tile
- There are three ways to play
- Solo Driving: 1 team plays a 2 minute match with 1 robot
- Solo Coding : 1 team plays a 1 minute match with 1 robot
- Coop Driving: 2 teams play a 1 minute match with 2 robots
- Determining a Winner:
- Be sure to determine the number of matches each team will play ahead of the competition.
- After each match, count the total points at the end of the match and record
- Team Name
- Total points
- End time
- Each team's official score is the highest score achieved in a match.
- If there is a tie, the team with the fastest time is the winner.
Mars Math Expedition Scoring
All tasks are worth 1 point unless otherwise noted.
Stage 1 - Crater and Rover Scoring
- Remove a Sample from the crater
- Move the Rover out of the crater
Stage 2 - Lab Scoring
- Place a Sample inside of the Lab
- Place a Sample on top of the Lab (This task is worth 2 points)
- Place a Sample on its matching colored square on top of the Lab (This task is worth 3 points)
Stage 3 - Solar, Landing and Rocket Scoring
- Tilt the Solar Panel down
- Clear the debris from the Landing Site
- Place the Helicopter on the Landing Site (Human)
- Lift the Rocket Ship upright
- End with the robot touching the red tile
Stage 4 - Fuel Scoring
- Remove a Fuel Cell from its cradle
- Move a Fuel Cell to the Rocket Ship tile
- Move a Fuel Cell to the Landing Site tile
