• First Grade Meet the Teacher is Tuesday, July 20th  from 4:30-5:10

Hi! My name is Stephanie Raphael and I am extremely excited to be teaching first grade at Riggs Elementary!  I grew up in Southern California and I moved to Arizona to attend college.  I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University. After graduating from the University of Arizona, I taught second grade for two years in the Washington Elementary School District. When I decided to teach in Chandler, I also decided to move grade levels as well.  I absolutely love teaching first grade!  This will be my seventeenth year teaching first grade in the Chandler Unified School District.  When I am not teaching, I love to travel and spend time with my family and friends.  I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to teach another group of first grade students and I look forward to a fantastic year!

Mrs. Folmsbee: I am one of the few people who can call Arizona my true home.  I was born and raised in Arizona, spending my childhood in Ahwatukee.  I received my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona, and I have Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University.  My teaching experience ranges from first grade all the way to fourth grade.  This will be my twelfth-year teaching, and my eighth-year teaching first grade.  I am so excited to be starting another wonderful year of first grade at Riggs!  When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family – my husband Kyle and my daughters Brynn and Charlee.  We love to hike around AZ and travel to visit family in Seattle and New York.
