    Desired outcomes:

    Beginning Mouse and Typing Skills Development

    The main focus of these 9 weekly computer lessons is to introduce and improve beginning mouse and keyboarding skills. Students will consistently and regularly type the alphabet A-Z to develop letter recognition and basic keyboard literacy. Students will also develop mouse skills such as pointing, clicking, double clicking, and dragging while practicing counting, as well as matching shapes and colors. 

    1st Grade

    Desired outcomes:

    Touch Typing and Word Processing Skills

    First Grade Qtr.1 technology lessons emphasize a strong focus on typing and word processing.

    First graders will practice typing using proper home row technique.

    First graders will also develop and improve their word processing skills. They will write short sentences, using proper spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and word spacing.

    Students will illustrate their text with shapes, clipart, or images if possible. They will learn to position and size those objects with their text. Students may learn to print / save their documents.

    2nd Grade

    Desired outcomes:

    Touch Typing and Word Processing Skills Development

    Second Grade Technology Lessons focus on typing skills development and word processing (Qtr.1), Office365 publishing applications and coding (Qtr.2), Mulimedia Publishing (Qtr.3) , research and presentations (Qtr.4).

    In the 1st quarter, students continue developing typing skills using the home row keys. Students also improve their writing skills through word processing. Students write friendly letters taking care to use appropriate capitalization, spelling, word spacing, and punctuation.

    3rd Grade

    Desired outcomes:

    Third Grade Technology Lessons focus on typing skills development and spreadsheets with charts (Qtr.1), coding and logic games, (Qtr.2), research (Qtr.3) , and presentations (Qtr.4).

    In the 1st Qtr, students continue to develop two hand homerow typing proficiency. Students also create expense spreadsheets with charts.

    Students will learn spreadsheet vocabulary such as rows,columns, cells, data, values, and formulas. Spreadsheets may be created using a variety of spreadsheet applications from Microsoft, Google, Apple, or other similar programs.

    4th Grade

    Desired outcomes:

    Touch Typing, Spreadsheet Budgets with Charts

    Fourth Grade Technology Lessons focus on (Qtr.1) - keyboarding skills development and Office365 presentation applications (Qtr.2) coding and logic games, (Qtr.3) graphics / photo editing , and (Qtr.4) research and alternative presentation applications.

    In the 1st Qtr, students continue to develop two hand homerow typing profiency. Students also create a slideshow presentations.

     

    5th Grade

    Desired outcomes:

    Touch Typing, Spreadsheet Vacation Budgets with Charts

    Fifth Grade Technology Lessons focus on (Qtr.1) - Keyboardingskills development and spreadsheets with charts, (Qtr.2) coding and logic games, (Qtr.3) graphics / photo editing , and (Qtr.4) presentations.

    In the 1st Qtr, students continue to develop two hand homerow typing proficiency. Students also create a variety of spreadsheets with charts.

    Students will learn spreadsheet vocabulary such as rows,columns, cells, data, values, and formulas. Spreadsheets may be created using a variety of spreadsheet applications from Microsoft, Google, Apple, or other similar programs.

     

    6th Grade

    Touch Typing, Spreadsheets with Charts, 3D Design and Printing

    Fifth Grade Technology Lessons focus on (Qtr.1) - Keyboardingskills development and spreadsheets with charts, (Qtr.2) CAD design principles (Qtr.3) graphics / photo editing , and (Qtr.4) coding and logic games, 

    In the 1st Qtr, students continue to develop two hand homerow typing proficiency. Students also create a variety of spreadsheets with charts.

    Students will learn spreadsheet vocabulary such as rows,columns, cells, data, values, and formulas. Spreadsheets may be created using a variety of spreadsheet applications from Microsoft, Google, Apple, or other similar programs.
