Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Thank you to teachers Daphne Medina and Vanessa LaRue who gave up their time on a Saturday to seal our kindness rocks in preparation for Patterson's first rock garden.
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Congratulations to Mrs. Benoche's 4th grade students won the Clean Classroom Award for doing a great job keeping their classroom neat and tidy.
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) All 1,080 Patterson Elementary students and staff have read the book "Only One You" to inspire them to love and celebrate who they are and what the represent. A local landscape company donated 3,000 pounds of rocks so all students could paint a "Be Kind" rock to represent something important about who they are. These rocks will all be placed outside as our Patterson "Only One You" rock garden. Students and staff painted anything from their native country flag, to a hobby that represented them, to a symbol that brought important meaning.
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Patterson Elementary School is piloting a new nutritious breakfast menu with grain and protein options for our students and staff.
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Kindergartners Joseph Luongo and Eli Enkelmann earned "Be Responsible" kindness tickets for helping out their friends at lunch.

Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Congratulations to Mrs. Rupa's sixth grade class, the Golden Spatula Winners for three weeks in a row. They were recognized for having the cleanest lunch table, remaining in their seats during lunch time, and being respectful.
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Patterson Elementary is piloting some additional nutritional lunch options called "Bento Boxes." The recipes change each week and are available Tuesday through Friday. Ask your kitchen manager for more details!

Patterson Elementary - (2017-2018) Parent comment: "Mrs. Franzen is an amazing first grade teacher full of energy and positivity. My son is excelling in all of his subjects but most importantly absolutely loves coming to school and adores his teacher. He is excited about what he is learning and appreciates how kind and caring his teacher is. Mrs. Franzen goes the extra mile to provide challenging enrichment opportunities for her students who are above grade level and as a parent, I appreciate this so much. My son called her his hero this morning, and I couldn't agree more. Thank you Mrs. Franzen for making a difference!"
Patterson Elementary - (2017-2018) Parent comment: "Mrs. Redford is an exceptional kindergarten teacher who goes the extra mile to bring life to her teaching. I am most impressed with her extra effort to provide STEM skills to students through the Coding Club that she offers before and after school once a week. My son loves learning to code with Ozobots and Evos and is really excited about the HUGE project they are starting where they are building Disneyland and California Adventure to navigate the Ozobots through! Mrs. Redford's energy and enthusiasm for technology is contagious, and I appreciate all of her hard work and time that goes into it."
Patterson Elementary - (2017-2018) Parent comment: "Mrs. Landon is always so happy and welcoming in the student drop-off line every morning. She greets my son and I with a warm smile and enthusiastic hello that makes us both so happy we are at Patterson. My son loves his music class and says Mrs. Landon is a crazy fun teacher. Patterson Elementary - (2017-2018) Congratulations to Patterson student Erietta Kamarianaki, the Town of Gilbert Student Citizen of the Month for December.
Patterson Elementary - (2017-2018) Leslie Boyd from Patterson Elementary was named the Sun Lakes Rotary Teacher of the Month for November. She was recognized at a luncheon in November. She received a framed certificate, a $100 personal award from the Sun Lakes Rotary and an additional $100 to be used in the classroom from Trust Bank.

Patterson Elementary - (2015-2016) Kudos to those from CUSD who attended the recent Relay for Life of Chandler event hosted by Basha High School on April 29. Over 400 staff and students, represented by Basha Elementary, CTA Freedom, Patterson, Riggs, Ryan, Payne, Basha High, Chandler High, Hamilton High and Perry High, attended the 12 hour overnight event where teams committed to have members walk throughout the night. Over $162,000 has been raised by participants with funds supporting cancer research and patients. Relay for Life of Chandler
Patterson Elementary - (2015-2016) Community comment: "The Patterson Sixth Grade Orchestra is the most talented and hard working 6th Grade Orchestra I have seen or heard in a long time. We are proud of their diligence and accomplishment."
Patterson Elementary - (2015-2016) The Steel Drum group at Patterson performed some really fun music at our assembly recently. The 26 students enrolled in the group all looked like they were having a blast, and they sounded great!
Patterson Elementary - (2015-2016) Staff comment: "I heard that a parent of a new student to our school commented that the student ambassadors in her child's brand new class made her feel comfortable and accepted right away. It's a wonderful program that helps alleviate the anxiety of starting a new school. The students practice skills that help new students feel better. I'm really impressed with these kiddos!"
Patterson Elementary - (2015-2016) Staff comment: "Another Clean School Award... we have the best custodians! They never let our school get messy. I've been in a lot of schools, and this one is definitely the cleanest! That matters a lot to me, because if something is maintained well and kept clean, people value it more and it lasts longer."

Patterson Elementary - (2013-2014) Sixteen of the 19 winners in in the City of Chandler's tenth annual fourth grade environmental art contest were CUSD students. Patterson student winners were Dalton Ross and Madisson Branting.
Patterson Elementary - (2013-2014) 4th grade teacher Tamara Kreutzbender received an SRP Learning Grant for $4490 for her STEM project to provide students with the opportunity to develop attitudes and competencies necessary for life-long problem solving and become the innovators of tomorrow. Students define and analyze problems related to exploration of a structural engineering timeline: Ancient Civilizations of the Americas through the present. They generate ideas for developing solutions and plan for implementation. SRP Learning Grant Recipients

Patterson Elementary - (2012-2013) For a boosterthon fun run, Patterson Elementary Principal Kris Palbykin dressed as a Lioness as the students received pledges from all 50 states.
Patterson Elementary - (2012-2013) During Patterson Elementary's Celebrate Learning event, the third graders ran businesses under the direction of teachers Tammy Wahla, Michelle Hufford, Jason Hoppal, Kimberlee Dwyer, and Lara Alvar. These businesses were fingernail painting, a photo booth, lemonade sales, candy gram sales, and tattoo sales. The businesses earned $927.50, which will be donated to the Children's Hospital.
Patterson Elementary - (2012-2013) Each year schools throughout the valley hold food drives and participate in the annual United Food Bank school food drive competition to collect the 'most pounds per student.' Patterson Elementary won for the elementary level in Chandler and Basha High won for the high school level.
Patterson Elementary - (2012-2013) Patterson Elementary third grade students Shawn Loyden and Andrew Underwood, under the direction of teacher Michelle Hufford, won the Arizona Milk Producers writing competition. As winners they participated in the Fiesta Bowl Parade, were interviewed on TV, had lots of pictures taken with many people, and were treated like royalty.
Patterson Elementary - (2012-2013) Ty Glander, fourth grade teacher at Patterson Elementary, received the KNIX/Fulton Homes teacher of the week award.
Patterson Elementary - (2012-2013) Students at Patterson Elementary collected nearly 600 books during their 'Caring Memorial for Javier' book drive to donate to Phoenix Children's Hospital. The students rallied in memory of second grader Javier Moreno-Gonzales, who passed away in October. Javier was one of the quintuplet brothers attending Patterson.
