    Welcome!

Welcome to Room 11! I am so excited to have you all join me.

    My Education and Professional Background

I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology. I have 4 years experience teaching elementary (4th and 1st grade). I am a mother of three and a wife. I switched careers from a high-paced financial job in which I helped develop new processes and provided corporate training. I had always wanted to teach, and realized the time had come. Since starting my new career, I have found a new energy and am confident I have also found my calling. I believe strongly that mistakes are what help us find new paths, and are never to be considered failures. We can only grow and learn. I use this belief to instill in my students, and my own children, confidence to try, try, and try again, always moving forward. I am so happy to have you join me on my new journey. I welcome any insight, and would love to answer any questions you may have! The green button below will allow you to correspond with me. Have an amazing day!

    My Educational Philosophy

Education leads us into achieving our goals and to becoming thriving members of society. Educators are among the most influential people of society. The students learn from them their role in society, how to contribute to society, how to develop work ethic, and how to live their lives. Educators must make sure that what they teach relates to their students' lives in order to ensure that their students understand the content. I believe every child can learn, and needs to be allowed to struggle a little to figure some things out. My role needs to move into more of a facilitator so my students can find more discovery in the class, leading to more excitement about their learning.
