“Science is more than a school subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world..."

    — President Barack Obama, March 23, 2015

At Conley we believe STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Education encompasses the proccoesses of critical thinking, analysis and collaboration in which students apply what they can do and know to become equipped with the knowledge and skills to problem solve, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information. In a world that's becoming increasingly complex, it's imperative that our students have the 21st century skills needed to innovate, and continue to keep our country thriving and remain competitive.

Each week the students at our school have the unique experience of visiting Mrs. Peper in the lab for lessons that place an emphasis around the Engineering Design Process. Our jr. engineers & scientists continue to gain confidence through the importance of team building, productively struggling through class challenges, and making connections about real-world science related career opportunities. The goal is to pique students' interest into them wanting to pursue these careers, not because they have to.
