    Welcome to 5th/6th CATS! I am excited to be your child's teacher this year, and look forward to having a fantastic year here at Ryan Elementary.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I've been teaching over 10 years in 3rd-6th grades. I graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and am currently working on my gifted endorsement.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that each student is an individual. Every student has different strengths and weaknesses, different interests, and a unique home life. Therefore, I believe that students deserve a more personalized education. To that end, I am dedicated to using small group instruction for differentiation. In addition, I focus on creating a positive environment, using positive reinforcement and positive behavioral support techniques to help each student have successful habits and behaviors. In addition, I believe in creating successful student leaders and a strong community in my classroom. Students have many rotating responsibilities in class & also take responsibility for their own learning by monitoring their successes and making plans for the next steps in their learning.
