    Welcome!

    Welcome to our second-grade website! This is going to be an exciting year! I am excited to get to know and work with the parents and students in our class.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I am originally from Wichita, KS. In May of 2005, I obtained my Elementary Education undergrad with a Music Minor from the University of Arizona. In December of 2009, I graduated from NAU with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a Reading Endorsement. I also have endorsements in Early Childhood Education and Structured English Immersion. I taught 1st grade for 8 years beginning in 2005, and I've taught 2nd grade since 2013.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that all children can and want to learn. As a teacher, my main goal is to help your child learn to be an independent, lifelong learner. To reach this goal, I will meet your child from where he/she is and guide him/her as far as possible, planning very carefully so that your child can feel challenged without unnecessary frustration. Teaching children that their best efforts are essential when completing a task is another goal. I want your child to develop and maintain an I CAN and WILL TRY attitude. I feel this attitude enables success.
