    Gold Honor Troupe
Hamilton Theatre was honored by the Arizona Thespians as a Gold Honor Troupe in recognition for the many activities and opportunities provided for students, as well as contributions to the school and surrounding community. To qualify as a Gold Honor Troupe, the highest honor, Hamilton Theatre had five or more public audience productions, 20 or more thespian activities (socials, workshops, field trips to see shows, etc.), and six or more school and community service activities. Reaching this designation would not have been possible without the support of the staff and administration at Hamilton and the help of all of the Hamilton community.

    CUSD Elementary Choral Festival
The CUSD elementary choral festival took place at the Chandler Center for the Arts in February with the theme of "Songs of Africa." Twenty-four elementary schools participated over the course of two days. All students worked with Wendy Umbrianna from Santan Junior High on choral singing techniques. Melissa Trafficante and Liana Clareson taught choreography over the course of the two days to close to 1,400 students. The amazing choirs from Chandler High School performed both days at the festival under the direction of Lori Lyford and delighted the elementary students with their musical abilities. Megan Vogus and Katie Landon hosted the festival and were awestruck by the talented groups that performed each day. Elementary Choral Festival Photo Album

    Memory Tiles
Sixth grade students have been busy painting their memory tiles during their science/social studies period over the first couple of weeks in January. Students had to preplan their design by drawing four different ideas that show they used up the entire 6 by 6 inch ceramic tile. The design was a symbol of themselves representing something that identified them as 6th graders. It had to be thought out right down to the three different colors (excluding black and white) they would use. Students were taught to color spaces but paint layers. They also learned how that technique makes the design details pop out on the white background. The Memory Wall is a Dad's Club creation starting since 2017 and continues to be sponsored by them as they take on firing of the tiles in the kiln and then hang on the wall. The tiles will be hung before the end of the school year.
