    The Chandler Unified School District is a premier district of choice, offering some of the top fine and performing arts programs in the state of Arizona. All students have the opportunity to participate in Band and Orchestra upon entering 5th grade. Students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade receive General Music instruction, and in grades 5th and 6th students can choose between General Music, Band or Orchestra.

    Each of Chandler's six high schools provide award-winning instrumental and vocal music programs as well as a wide range of visual arts opportunities. Chandler junior high schools provide elective opportunities with highly qualified instruction in instrumental and vocal music through band, orchestra, jazz band, chorus, visual arts, and many more. In addition, many before and after school clubs at all levels offer a variety of fine and performing arts opportunities..

He is the number one bass in the state this year. He plans to pursue music in college. Tyler is a hard worker and a gifted teacher. He currently student-teaches the junior high advanced choir, and they respond very well to his leadership, humor, and musical know-how. Tyler has held a leading role in every musical during his 4 years here. He is a gifted actor in our company theatre program and is also is a successful playwright. Tyler served as the Casteel marching band's drum major (conductor) during his sophomore year. He plays several instruments and is an all-around top-notch musician and performer. Additionally, Zachary was one of three drummers nationwide selected to participate in Berkley's College of Music Master Summit where he got to play with Jeff Coffin from the Dave Matthews band and also work with drummer Chester Thompson. These exceptional musicians will participate in the upcoming festival at NAU, April 11-13. This achievement represents the highest honor an Arizona high school musician can earn.

Her senior year, Brielle has become Choir President and accomplished many things, such as leading three choir concerts when her teacher was unable to be there. The alumni of this alliance include luminaries such as Andy Warhol, Richard Avedon, Idelle Weber, Ken Burns, Paul Chan and Kay Walkingstick. This year nearly 340,000 works were submitted. She holds various leadership positions, such as: president of the Asian Cultural Ethics Club (ACE) during her junior and senior year, music mentor for the Accelerated Middle School for two years, and drum major of the marching band. Dannielle has been involved in a variety of different clubs and programs. She participated in orchestra since starting her journey as a Basha Bear, constantly repping her fellow violists, which she likes to refer to as the "underdogs of the ensemble." Her time has also been spent leading clubs like ITS (International Thespian Society), Tri-M, Orchestra Council, and H4H as well as being a part of Link Crew and National Honor Society while managing to stay in the top of her class. This annual jazz festival has been running for the past 10 years and this year had more than 45 jazz bands performing for adjudicators from all over the United States. Willis received a Superior rating from all three judges and received the highest ranked score in the Junior High and Middle School Division.

Megan Vogus, choir teacher at Basha Elementary was key in organizing the event. This festival is a long running tradition music teachers at the elementary level have established to provide choir students with a chance to enrich their choral experience. The students attending were able to perform onstage at the Chandler Center for the Arts, work with a clinician on rehearsal techniques, learn choreography for a final performance, and sing in groups with students from other schools. They saw a performance done by several choirs from Perry High School, encouraging students to continue with choir at the secondary level.

The spiritline includes 40 students in grades 2-6 during the 2nd quarter. The students had been working tirelessly over the last month to prepare for this event, and their hard work sure did show! They danced down the street to fun holiday songs as well as performed their school chants and cheers for everyone.

They also participated in the Group Acting class in which they created and built a story with movement and learned that all theatre and Disney is rooted in storytelling. Additionally, the original piece was purchased by a Heard Museum member at the event. Students enjoyed the opportunity to express themselves through their photography.

Throughout September and October the Huskies performed at invitational festivals at Desert Vista, Barry Goldwater, and Mountain View (Mesa) earning three consecutive 5th place finishes. Musical selections included Johann Sebastian Bach's Cello Suite, Air, Little Fugue, Well-Tempered Clavier, and Tocatta and Fugue.
