Through this grant award, Basha will receive 15 blue and 15 red soft lacrosse sticks, as well as 30 orange soft lacrosse balls.

In addition to Basha High capturing the girls title, Stefana Jelacic of Chandler High (118 pounds) and Jennifer Curry of Hamilton High (160 pounds) won individual championships. CUSD had four individual state champions among the boys. Zach Espalin of Chandler High (113 pounds), Alex Rodriguez of Basha High (126 pounds), Joe Carey of Basha High (182 pounds) and Nathaniel Deasey of Chandler High (220 pounds) brought home medals. In Division I, Hamilton placed fourth, Chandler fifth and Basha eighth as teams. Casteel placed ninth in Division II. AIA State Wrestling Championships

Thirty Basha students attended. There, they had a chance to practice their golf skills, listen to an interview with Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo and D-backs pitcher Archie Bradley, see golf pro Cameron Champ do a long drive challenge, and watch Joey O. perform a trick shot. The students enjoyed themselves and had a wonderful time.

Her 1,000 meters time is the fastest among high school girls this year, and her 600 time is the second-fastest high school time. Morgan, an honors student with a 4.65 GPA, will be running at Stanford next year.

Tristan's 5th place finish out of 89 other 8U boys from 4 different states solidified his spot and earned him a full travel scholarship to compete in Reno.
