Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Resources

Purpose: targeted instruction for students not yet proficient with phonemic awareness
Audience: Kindergarten & First Grade
Format:
•10-12 minute warm-up
•taught in one on one or small group
•begin with Week 1
•can be paired with Seeing Stars to extend lesson sessions with students
Assessment:

NOTE: Manual contains hand motions to provide an extra layer of support as needed

Assessment Form A
This assessment, Form A, can be used to gather baseline data about a whole class prior to implementing the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness curriculum as part of daily literacy instruction.

This assessment, Form B, can be used to gather ongoing data about a whole class throughout a school year, to measure progress with the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness curriculum.
