Divider and spacer Visit Arizona College Prep - Erie Campus Website Report a Problem with Item A007170 Arizona College Prep - Erie CampusKaitlyn Starks - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT:  Kaitlyn Starks is the first female Arizona College Preparatory athlete to commit to playing at the collegiate level in soccer. Kaitlyn excels in everything she does. She is the current Student Government President and also a member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and She's the First. Kaitlyn was awarded Outstanding Student of the Year 2018-19 for her commitment to ACP and her classmates. She will graduate this year as a Distinguished Scholar and has earned an Academic Letter all four years for a GPA far above a 4.0. Kaitlyn is the Varsity Soccer Captain and has also earned an Athletic Letter all four years. She plans to attend St. Joseph's College Brooklyn in the fall to further both her soccer and academic careers. ACP Erie Seniors Highlights

She has helped to develop the DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) program on ACP's campus and is currently a DECA State Officer. Competing at both state and national levels, she has earned 1st place in Buying and Merchandising Operation Research Event at the State Career Development Conference. She also received the DECA Speakers Bureau Award. Mackenzie also achieved athletic honors as a four-year varsity athlete. She has been recognized as Arizona All Academic Cross Country First Team, Soccer Player of the Game and Track MVP. Mackenzie will graduate with High Honors and is planning on attending Northern Arizona University in the fall as a Lumberjack Scholar. ACP Erie Seniors Highlights

Susan's commitment to academics doesn't stop with her. She is the president of Arizona College Prep's Tutor Club, pairing students with peer mentors, scheduling times and places for them to meet. Susan is also involved in several clubs and organizations on campus: Spanish Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, National Honor Society, Comic Club and Mu Alpha Theta Club. Amazingly, she still has time to dedicate to playing the oboe in ACP's orchestra. Next year, Susan will attend University of North Texas. ACP Erie Seniors Highlights

Kamal is involved in several leadership positions on campus and is co-captain and a four-year varsity athlete on the tennis team. This year, he advanced to the quarterfinals of the AIA State Doubles Tennis Tournament. Kamal is planning on studying Biological Sciences (Biomedical Sciences) and Business in college. The U.S. Figure Skating Graduating Seniors Award recognizes the commitment and dedication of student athletes who have participated in figure skating throughout high school along with high academic achievement. Brooke recently graduated from the Hoop of Learning at Maricopa County Community College. She is a talented artist and recently sold two of her paintings at the Heard Museum Art Show. Brooke also received the Judges Choice Award for her painting titled "Long Ride Home." The Navajo culture has inspired her art and her future education. Brooke is planning to pursuit a degree in Native American Studies and Political Science at the University of Arizona. ACP Erie Seniors Highlights

In the two short years of the school's football program, Blaise has been recognized as 1st Team All CUSD Punter, 1st Team All-Metro Punter, and Arizona All Academic Honorable Mention. Next year Blaise will take the field as a Cobber playing for Concordia College in Morehead, Minnesota as a kicker and punter. Blaise is planning to study neuroscience. ACP Erie Seniors Highlights

Keene states, "My plan after high school graduation is to pursue a degree in Biochemistry and ultimately get an MD or PhD at the end of the road. As of now, my plan for colleges is still a bit cloudy, but I do have a list in mind that I have either applied to or currently in the application process for. So far, my list includes ASU, U of A, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, and a few others. My future goal is to become a medical researcher and impact the world in some way, but I don't know enough about the specialized sciences yet to say what I want to do. The Flinn Scholarship Program provides an unparalleled package for undergraduate study at an Arizona public university for only 20 of Arizona's highest-achieving high school seniors each year. The merit-based scholarship program covers the cost of tuition, fees, room and board and at least two study-abroad experiences. The overall financial package is valued at more than $120,000.

Erin states, "My ultimate dream is to go to John's Hopkins and study Biochemistry. My future goal is to be a biomedical scientist, or have a profession in another biology related field. I hope to be able to participate in research that helps people and I want to make sure my studies recognize the differences in health from a global perspective."
