Haley Elementary - (2019-2020) Haley first graders are working in their newly furnished collaborative technology lab. Haley Elementary was able to purchase the new furniture using results-based funding.
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Congratulations to Mrs. Barz's 2nd graders who won the Pawsitively Clean Classroom trophy for cleaning up their classroom this week.

Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Thank you to teachers Daphne Medina and Vanessa LaRue who gave up their time on a Saturday to seal our kindness rocks in preparation for Patterson's first rock garden.
Basha Elementary - (2019-2020) Basha Bobcats enjoyed breakfast with their grandparents at the annual Grandparents' Breakfast. Muffins, coffee, juice and fruit were provided by Basha Elementary's PTO. Families also visited the Follett Book Fair in the Media Center.
Carlson Elementary - (2019-2020) Carlson Elementary held a special flag ceremony on 9/11 to commemmorate those who lost their lives, and to remember our living heroes.
Chandler Traditional Academy - Humphrey Campus - (2019-2020) Mrs. Bullock's 3rd grade students are working on a project with the story Bat Loves the Night from their Journey's Anthology.
Chandler Traditional Academy - Liberty Campus - (2019-2020) Kindness Is Awesome Club's Kind Letters Committee wrote their first letters of the year! The club's mission is to spread kindness across the community and make people feel more positive about the future (and today!). Through our kindness we can help renew the good simple acts in life that help people. Check out the club's activites and Public Service Announcements at the link below. Knox Gifted Academy - (2019-2020) What an amazing year of student council elections! We couldn't be more proud of this group and the bravery they showed by putting themselves out there. We are so impressed with their speeches and personal displays. Here are just a few of the things they had to say: "Everyone should be given an opportunity to speak up and advocate for themselves." "I am driven by a passion to give people opportunities." "I will roll up my sleeves and work for you." and "The magic of our school ripples across campus because we are allowed to flourish."
Knox Gifted Academy - (2019-2020) On Friday, September 13, Knox Gifted Academy held their annual Dot Day celebration. This is a day to showcase who each individual child is, what makes them special, and what his/her interests are. KGA's 7 Cs of creativity were showcased around every corner. Highlights from the day included walking the fence line to view the Ish Gallery (where we celebrated every student as an artist), exploring the dot garden (where each student created a dot that represents them), and experiencing the wide range of activities for the kids around campus. There was coding, art, problem solving, engineering, learning new languages, and -- most importantly -- connecting as a community.
Riggs Elementary - (2019-2020) In the recent Riggs PTO Read-a-Thon, students read a total of 196,585 minutes -- surpassing last year's total by 33,690 minutes! In addition, the total amount raised was $18,646.
Basha Elementary - (2019-2020) Basha Elementary student council representatives decorated the campus in remembrance of September 11, 2001. The main flag was flown at half mast, and smaller American flags lined the front of the school in observation of Patriot Day. Basha Student Council
Basha Elementary - (2019-2020) Sixth grader Kohen Johnson uses his personal savings at the Book Fair to donate a book to the Basha Elementary School Library! Kohen understands the importance of reading, and hopes Bobcats enjoy the book he selected, Who Is Michael Jordan?
Santan Elementary - (2019-2020) In honor of 9/11, Santan first graders thank local Chandler Police officers for their service. (Canines, too!)
Tarwater Elementary - (2019-2020) Tarwater second graders celebrated our country on September 11 by putting on a patriotic performance. Singing patriotic songs and teaching us about our American symbols, they truly turned a difficult day into a beautiful special celebration of the wonderful country we live in.

Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary - (2019-2020) Hartford was selected for a $2,500 grant from the Extra Yard for the Teacher program through the Pac 12 Conference, Sun Devil Athletics and the Sun Devil Club. The grant award is in recognition for the hard work Hartford teachers do that "Extra Yard" for their students.
Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary - (2019-2020) Hartford students all contributed to a poster to honor Patriot's Day. The Huskies were encouraged to find a service project that they can do for others.
Jacobson Elementary - (2019-2020) Kind kinder students show their patriotic colors on Patriots Day! Jacobson JETS fly with pride!
San Marcos Elementary - (2019-2020) San Marcos 3rd Grade Students in Carly Mahlmeister and Courtney Geil's classes explored scientific ideas, procedures and concepts while have a FUN time during a recent Legoland field trip. 3rd Grade Science Field Trip to Legoland Photo Album
Chandler Traditional Academy - Freedom Campus - (2019-2020) CTA Freedom 6th graders have started to research different companies that they would like to invest in during the Stock Market Game. Students are looking for trends in the market and researching companies to determine if stocks have been gaining or losing money over the last six months. Sixth graders will compete against 4th-6th graders statewide to make the best investments in the game.
Santan Elementary - (2019-2020) Santan Elementary students had the opportunity to explore in the zSpace bus before the new zSpaces arrive for the STEAM lab!
Santan Elementary - (2019-2020) Kennedy Hendley was named the first ever recipient of the Santan KIND KID AWARD, sponsored by Menchie's and the Santan PTO. This award is given to students who are nominated by their peers for showing acts of kindness. The winner receives a gift card to Menchie's Frozen Yogurt. Congratulations, Kennedy!
Navarrete Elementary - (2019-2020) Navarrete sixth graders had a special presentation from a community RN showing how germs really spread with poor handwashing. Students learned how to combat stubborn germs with good hygiene and how to stay healthy with smart choices in food and lifestyle.
Santan Elementary - (2019-2020) Santan Elementary won a $2,500 grant from the Sun Devil Athletics and the Sun Devil Club Extra Yard for Teachers program in recognition for the hard work the school and community does to go that "Extra Yard" for students.
Bologna Elementary - (2019-2020) Congratulations to Alanna who earned Principal of the Hour for showing SPARK!
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) Valley Christian High School held a Pancakes and Pavers event, donating classroom supplies to our teachers while also feeding our 4th-6th graders breakfast!

Knox Gifted Academy - (2019-2020) Celebrating Grandparent's Day at Knox is always an amazing opportunity to celebrate and connect with our community as well as offer leadership roles to our upper elementary students to greet them and direct them to their right locations.
Knox Gifted Academy - (2019-2020) Fifth grade worked on their craft while using appropriate tools strategically and attending to precision in order to create a 10 cm perfect cube out of cardboard with a lid that is able to open. This was a challenging task in preparation for our schoolwide Cardboard Challenge at the end of the quarter.
Chandler Traditional Academy - Humphrey Campus - (2019-2020) CTA Humphrey is proud to participate in Gabriel's Angels Pets Helping Kids program. Students love reading to Yankee Doodle (our reading buddy dog) -- and Yankee "reads" back! (And that is a true story! Here, Santiago asks Yankee, "Which one is the cat?" and Yankee uses his nose to point to the cat in the book they are reading.) Gabriel's Angels website
Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) Frye Kindergartners worked hard on learning mouse skills in preparation for using laptops.
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) Students from Ms. Fritz Kindergarten class love to read with Ms. Addair, our principal, in her office!
Hancock Elementary - (2019-2020) Hancock 6th graders play a game in gym class that requires teamwork and cooperation called "Learning how to survive."
Chandler Traditional Academy - Liberty Campus - (2019-2020) In celebration of the kick-off the college football season, staff and students of CTA Liberty proudly wore their favorite college colors to school on Friday, August 30. It was fun to see the wide variety schools represented -- from ASU (go, Devils!) and UofA, to Penn State, Michigan, Oregon, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin!
Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) The City of Chandler presented a water conservation assembly for Frye's 2nd-4th grade students. Students learned the importance of conserving water, especially because we live in a desert.
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) Congratulations to our new Student Council officers who recently met for the first time with our administrators.
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) THANK YOU to the Valley of the Sun United Way (VSUW) and General Motors who delivered 1,000 snack packs for our students put together by volunteers.
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Congratulations to Mrs. Benoche's 4th grade students won the Clean Classroom Award for doing a great job keeping their classroom neat and tidy.
Chandler Traditional Academy - Independence Campus - (2019-2020) CTA Independence Fall Book Fair was a huge success! The "Artic Adventure" Book Fair allowed students to find a new book and an opportunity to donate a book to their classrooms!
Fulton Elementary - (2019-2020) Under the direction of technology teacher Melissa Lundquist, the new Fulton Elementary Innovation STEAM Lab is creating a fun, hands-on class that engages children in science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities. Students will learn to question, explore, experiment, reason, and apply abstract concepts to real world challenges while still participating in district technology curriculum. Technology will still be a prominent tool as we build through the inquiry process and continue to build upon previous year�s technology lessons onestep further than before.
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) Galveston 3rd graders built bridges in Science to see which one will hold the most weight.
Jacobson Elementary - (2019-2020) Jacobson Jets teachers Kristina Graves and Monica Nichol spent a Saturday to attend the Arizona Diamondbacks teacher training on the content of the Science of Baseball to bring back to their classrooms. Additionally two students represented Jacobson: Elizabeth Young presented her project on the Area of the Strike Zone, and former Jet Catherine Young presented her project on Choosing the Right Baseball Bat. Both used the Scientific Method and were given recognition by the Arizona Diamondbacks for their project.
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) All 1,080 Patterson Elementary students and staff have read the book "Only One You" to inspire them to love and celebrate who they are and what the represent. A local landscape company donated 3,000 pounds of rocks so all students could paint a "Be Kind" rock to represent something important about who they are. These rocks will all be placed outside as our Patterson "Only One You" rock garden. Students and staff painted anything from their native country flag, to a hobby that represented them, to a symbol that brought important meaning.
San Marcos Elementary - (2019-2020) Got Layers? Mrs. Holden's 5th Graders are putting density to the test during a series of hands on experiments.
San Marcos Elementary - (2019-2020) Media Specialist Jolene Gallup organized a Scholastic Book Fair recently which was a hit with San Marcos students! Congratulations to Robert (Kindergarten) and Leslie (4th Grade) who each won Scholastic Door Prizes.
Chandler Traditional Academy - Liberty Campus - (2019-2020) Kindergartners in Miss Freeman's class met their 5th grade buddies from Mrs. Hight's class. They introduced themselves and drew a picture of each other. What a great time to build a community across grade levels while also teaching 5th graders responsibility and caring character traits!
