  • KGA Letter from Mrs. Weed

Posted by Kristy Braaksma on 1/15/2021

    Dear KGA Families,

We are looking forward to welcoming back our students on Tuesday for in class instruction.  The safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority.   We continue to practice our mitigation strategies:  Students are required to wear tight-fitting masks, wash their hands frequently (we have hand sanitization stations placed throughout the campus) as well as staying in their classroom cohorts, including lunch, recess and specials.  Clear social distancing requirements are posted and reinforced in each classroom, and restrooms have signage as to social distance markers, number of students allowed, and proper handwashing techniques. Restroom breaks are monitored by the teacher to ensure social distance requirements are being met.  Water bottles are required to be labeled with student’s name, and refilling will be done at the refilling station.  All horizontal surfaces are cleaned and disinfected multiple times per day.  High traffic areas maintain regular sanitization and disinfecting schedules.  Restrooms and Health Office are disinfected at a minimum of two times daily.  Our campus has sprayers to apply appropriate sanitization to indoor and outdoor equipment on a regular basis.  Sharing of supplies is restricted and any shared equipment is disinfected after use.

Here’s how you can help.  Please do not send your student to school if they have tested positive to COVID-19 or have symptoms.  Symptoms include, fever, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, vomiting, chills, congestion or runny nose, headache, muscle or body aches, nausea, sore throat, loss of taste or smell.  Please contact our health assistant Tracey Webb at (480) 812-6102 if you have any questions.  We appreciate all your efforts in keeping our campus healthy.  Feel free to call the front office with any questions.

    Thank You

    Lynn Weed, Principal

    Kristy Braaksma, Dean of Students
