Hello! I moved to Arizona from Montana in 1999. I graduated high school from CHS and I have worked at three incredible Chandler schools. To stay balanced, my family and I enjoy camping in the mountains as often as we can! I also enjoy reading, live music, Nintendo video games, and spicy vegetarian food. I collect hobbies, with the most recent being novice woodworking. I’m always looking for ways to enhance my craft!
My Education and Professional Background
I began my teaching career with CUSD in 2006 after graduating from ASU with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education degree. I have a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from NAU, a K-8 Middle Grade Math Endorsement, and experience with Title 1 (K-6th) and gifted education (5th-6th). I am a part of the Arizona Mathematics Partnership and an NCTM member. I am a lifelong learner and continue my professional education every chance I get!
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that everyone can develop a mathematical mindset and that all students have unlimited potential to become innovative thinkers and problem solvers. In our math class, we honor various ways of thinking, celebrate the power of mistakes, and find the beauty, creativity, and connections in the mathematics all around us.
