  • Welcome to the 2020/2021 School Year!

Welcome Back Video from Mrs. Weed & Mrs. Braaksma

    Dear KGA Parents,

We are so excited to welcome back our returning families and meet our new families!  We have been very busy planning for our students return, and an important piece of back to school planning is procedures for drop-off and pick-up. Please read these carefully so we can have the smoothest process possible.  It is always hectic the first week of a new school year until we get in the rhythm, so we appreciate your patience.  Students will be welcomed on campus at 8:45 am, and go directly to their classroom.

    General Information:
    Office Hours: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
    School Hours: 9:10 am – 3:40 pm
Student Hours: Students may arrive at 8:45 am – students may not be on campus before 8:45 am as there is no supervision.
Kid’s Express: 6:30 am – 6:00 pm.  Please park and sign your student in at the gate or in the MPR.

AM Drop-Off Whether you are entering the parking lot from the east or west on Orchid, we ask that you take turns entering the lot and pull forward to the North Gate. Please stay in your car and have students get out on the right side of the car. At this time, there is not an option for parents to park and walk their child into school.   When you exit the parking lot, you may only turn right.  If you’re trying to get to Hartford, all three streets off Evergreen (Gail Dr., Park Ave, & Gary Dr.) go straight through to Hartford.

PM Pick-Up Pick-Up: If you want to be in the pick-up line for dismissal, you can only do that by traveling west on Orchid (you may not turn left into the parking lot and jump into the pick-up line). Teachers will be looking for the placards (for the 1st day, please make a sign with your students name and grade) in your window and calling for the students to come to the car, entering on the passenger side only.  At this time, Apache Park will not be a pick-up option.  The park gate will be locked.  As in the morning drop-off procedures, when exiting all traffic may only turn right.

Bus Riders: On Monday, your child will receive a bus pass (based on the information you provided on your Transportation Sheet) that we will attach to their backpack. The color of the pass signifies the route and the stop is pre-written on the pass. This needs to remain attached to their backpack throughout the year. Please be at the bus stop 10 minutes before your scheduled pick-up time. In addition, students in kindergarten to 2nd grade will not be dropped off without a parent to meet the bus. Please keep in mind, if you are late, you are holding up all the other bus riders.

If you’d like to receive information about the buses, please sign up for REMIND. We will use this communication to inform you of late buses or bus trouble. You can subscribe to receive this information via text messaging or e-mail (or both).
For example: If your student rides the purple bus, to receive messages via text, text @kgapurpbus (choose your bus color from below) to 81010.

  • Visiting KGA?

All parents and guests visiting our campus must check in at the office and wear a visitor name tag.  For the safety of your children, KGA staff will greet or question adults who are not wearing a visitor name tag, and subsequently make sure they check in at the office.
