About
Braaksma...
Welcome to Knox Gifted Academy! I am honored to serve our families and staff as the Dean of Students!
My Education and Professional Background
As an educational leader, I have grown tremendously since I began in 2001. My love for educating students continues to flourish and my passion for student success and development drives my every decision. Joining Knox Gifted Academy in 2013 has been a unique opportunity that has continued to inspire me over the years. My unique experiences as a teacher, master teacher, cognitive coach, curriculum developer, technology specialist, and team leader have prepared me well to be a valuable asset at Knox Gifted Academy.
My Educational Philosophy
I am a tenacious leader and professional educator by choice because our students are amazing and deserve nothing less than my best. I believe in cultivating authentic and meaningful relationships with all stakeholders and earnestly seek to provide an equitable environment where all students' needs are met academically, socially, and emotionally.
