About
Babcock...
Welcome! I am so very excited about the upcoming 2020-2021 school year at CTA Independence. This is my tenth year teaching at CTA Independence, my fifth year teaching 6th grade ELA. I previously taught 3rd grade for five years. I love to see how much my students grow and use Reading as a stepping stone to learning about the world around them.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education from ASU and a Master of Education from NAU and coursework from University of Phoenix, I enjoy learning for my students in the classroom continuing my education and keeping current with educational trends. I recently completed training in Teaching Reading Effectively and am excited to use that training to help my students to become even better readers.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child is a unique individual who will thrive when given a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere. When given this type of environment they will grow and mature in all aspects of their life. It is my desire as a facilitator of education to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.
