    Welcome to Kindergarten! I am very eager to get to know your child and work with you to help them grow and succeed. I love teaching Kindergarten here at CTA-Independence and am very excited to teach your student this year.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, and Reading Endorsement from the University of Northern Iowa.  I am Spalding certified, completing both Spalding I & Spalding II courses, and have my Structured English Immersion endorsement.  I have taught multiple grades from pre-K through 5th, and Kindergarten is by far my favorite. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    I am a dedicated teacher who strives to interactively teach, motivate, engage, guide, support, and challenge every individual through a strong foundation of standard-based strategies and lessons in all areas: social, emotional, physical and cognitive. I believe in joint and fundamental support to strengthen student growth through a strong collaboration and participation among the school, home, and community. Furthermore, I provide those I teach with self-confidence, self-esteem and critical thinking skills that will allow them to be lifelong learners as well as world-class leaders and successful, responsible citizens in society.
