My Education and Professional Background
Hello. I am Jennifer Pearce and I have been teaching elementary education since 1998. Being from Indiana originally, I received my Bachelor's Degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and I finished my Master's Degree in Education along with a reading endorsement from Arizona State University. My teaching experience began in San Antonio, Texas and continued to Tempe School District after moving to Arizona in 2001. Currently, I live in Chandler with my beautiful Labrador Retrievers. I love traveling, teaching, snorkeling, and playing with my boys (dogs). I look forward to many more years of working for the Chandler School District and enriching current and future students' lives through their education and experience.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that teaching young minds is a task that cannot be taken lightly. It is full of challenges, frustrations, and responsibilities. However, it is a task that is also full of excitement, wonder and joy. I strongly believe that all children are capable of learning, if they have the proper motivation and direction from their teachers. I intend to motivate students while teaching them to be intrinsically motivated through challenging yet supportive lessons and assignment. In my classroom, I want students to have freedom that allows for expression and creativity. I believe that is also important to help the students develop their social and interaction skills.
