About Mrs. Weber...
Position: 6th Grade Math Teacher
I am very excited to be teaching 6th grade math this year! I've been a Chandler resident for the past 18 years, along with my husband and four kids, ages 16, 17, 18, and 20. All of my own kids went to school here at CTA, so I have experienced firsthand how successful students can be when teachers set high standards, and the students strive to meet them. And this is exactly why I love teaching.
My Education and Professional Background
This will be my 10th year teaching math. It will be my 5th year teaching at CTA Independence. Before that, I taught high school math for 5 years. I earned my Bachelors Degree at the University of Arizona (Bear Down!) and my Masters Degree from Arizona State University.
My Educational Philosophy
It is my belief that each student will learn best when they have an inner desire to learn. It is my goal to foster the love of learning by relating our study of mathematics to the real world, so they can see exactly how it would be used in real life. I also plan to make it fun, because that goes a long ways!! A love of learning will be fostered in a caring, encouraging, structured, and stimulating classroom community, which will include ample opportunity to get any extra help that is needed and open communication with parents. I'm looking forward to a great year!
