Grades in the Music Room
Every student in grades 2-6 in General Music will receive Content grades each semester (not quarterly).
Content grades demonstrate how well the student has mastered the curriculum and will be marked as MS (Meets Standards), P (Progressing) or AC (Area of Concern).

Meets Standards: The student mastered most of the knowledge and skill areas assessed during the semester.

Progressing: The student mastered some of the knowledge and skills areas assessed during the semester and/or shows evidence of developing understanding or skills.

Area of Concern: The student was unable to master the knowledge and skill areas assessed during the semester and/or shows little evidence of devloping understanding or skills.
Every student in grades 1-6 in General Music will receive Behavior grades each semester (not quarterly). Behavior grades demonstrate how well the student has mastered the curriculum and will be marked as E (Excellent), S (Satisfactory), I (Improving) or N (Needs Improvement)

Excellent: The student consistenly demonstrates willing and active participation during class.

Satisfactory: The student usually demonstrates will and active participation during class but needs some redirection and guidance from the teacher at times.

Improving: The student is demonstrating willing and active participation on a more frequent basis.

Needs Improvement: The student does not demonstrate willing and active participation during class time.
Kindergarten students do not receive formal grades in Music. l
